Leading Australian sustainable packaging solutions provider Orora Limited has awarded ZIPPE the contract to design and deliver a new glass beneficiation facility at its Gawler site in Southern Australia.
The new beneficiation plant will enable Orora to procure additional volumes of beverage glass through established sources and new container deposit schemes to increase the amount of recycled content in its glass packaging, which will deliver sustainability benefits, including a reduction in the amount of energy (and Co2 emissions) and in virgin materials deployed to manufacture glass, and will divert waste away from landfill.
The glass beneficiation plant, expected to be commissioned in 2022, will provide Orora with greater capacity and technology to meet its sustainability goals.
